Winds increasing strong by this afternoon ahead of a cold front passage this evening.


A cold front will quickly pass the area this evening with westerly winds becoming strong to near-gale ahead of the front this afternoon. Quick-moving showers will accompany the front with the slight chance of thunder possible. Seas will build rough to very rough today into Friday before beginning to abate Friday afternoon. High pressure builds in behind the front and will bring fine weather through the weekend.

Persistent low cloud cover will slowly diminish through the day as winds become light to moderate. A fast moving cold front will bring showers and strong westerly to northwesterly winds, gusting to gale force, Thursday afternoon and evening. Expect scattered showers along the front with a possible chance of thunder. Seas reach rough to very rough Thursday night into Friday before abating through the weekend.

Clouds will linger on Tuesday and Wednesday with a threat of a shower or two then another cold front will pass on Thursday delivering strong winds with gale force gusts and showers. Moderate to rough seas persist.
