Moderate to strong winds with isolated to scattered showers continue today as high pressure remains to our northwest while a broad area of low pressure lingers to our southeast. Rough to very rough long period seas gradually abate over the next 3 days as the trough gradually weakens.

Moderate winds veer northwesterly moderate to strong by late morning, then veer north-northeasterly strong by this afternoon as a weak cold front moves through the area. Moderate seas build rough to very rough throughout this morning and afternoon. High pressure will extend southeastward from the northeastern U.S. to over Bermuda while a broad trough of low pressure remains to our southeast allowing for strong winds and isolated light showers through Friday.

It’s hard to believe, but the Weather Service is forecasting:  Expect rain, showers and thunder later today.
A trough moving up from the south will bring rain and showers and a risk of thunder this afternoon and evening along with moderate, briefly strong winds. A developing low will pass to our north this evening and the two systems will move off to our east leaving mainly fair weather and moderate to strong winds Wednesday through Friday. Slight to moderate seas build rough to very rough Wednesday.

Scattered to widespread rain develops tonight and becomes widespread tomorrow and may be heavy at times. The rain will taper to showers tomorrow night. Seas build rough to very rough tomorrow morning and continue into Thursday.
