High pressure weakens today allowing a passing trough to the south to produce isolated, light showers across the region. Fair to fine weather follows for Wednesday and through the end of the week as high pressure rebuilds from the west. Generally light winds become moderate to strong on Thursday and persist into the weekend. Moderate seas are expected throughout the forecast period but may briefly abate slight later today.

A secondary frontal trough will bring a few showers back this evening through Sunday afternoon along with a brief period of strong winds Sunday. Moderate to very rough seas gradually fall becoming slight to moderate by Monday.

Post cold frontal cloud cover with morning rain or showers, gusty northerly winds and building seas are seen across the area. Conditions briefly settle tonight into tomorrow morning before a strong low pressure system develops to our west and delivers widespread rain and probable gales from Wednesday night into Thursday. Seas build rough to very rough over the next few days.

A few lingering showers, mainly to the south and east marine areas, this morning before conditions improve through the day with seas abating. High pressure will move through quickly as a front approaches overnight tomorrow. Behind the front expect northwesterly winds, a few isolated showers and moderate to sometimes rough seas for the first days of the new year.

A narrow ridge will move through today before a broad low pressure center moves to the south through the overnight. Isolated showers will start this evening becoming scattered overnight with a chance of thunder, especially in the southern marine area, before trailing off tomorrow evening. A set of cold fronts will move through the area Sunday and Tuesday next week. Seas remain moderate through the period before becoming rough Tuesday.

Low pressure now centered near to our north will continue to deepen as it moves northeast today. Morning showers with a risk of thunder will diminish by midday, while moderate to strong winds linger into the evening. High pressure brings fair weather and light to moderate winds Friday. Another low brings rain and showers, strong winds and a risk of thunder again Saturday.
