A beautiful start to the day.


Winds increase later today and tonight as a rather feeble cold front draws near from the northwest. Any nighttime showers seen will be all but gone by Christmas morning, but remaining breezy with continued moderate seas through much of the week ahead. Isolated shower activity will also return by Tuesday night due to the cool northerly winds advecting over the relatively warmer ocean waters.

Cloudy, windy, MUGGY and rain coming this afternoon


Strong winds persist preceding a slow-moving cold front nearing from the west. Expect routine gale force gusts immediately ahead, and along the front, especially near showers and/or thunderstorms as the front passes by early afternoon. Very rough seas slowly abate rough to moderate Sunday and Monday before a weak frontal trough sends a couple of showers Monday night into early Christmas Day with continued moderate seas.

Here come the winds.
High pressure to our east will provide another day of fair weather today, but as it moves away a cold front will gradually approach from the west bringing strong winds today. Expect strong to near gale winds with showers and a chance of thunder as the front moves through Saturday. Winds ease to moderate behind the front later Saturday and light to moderate with fair to fine weather Sunday. Slight to moderate seas today rise rough to very rough tonight through Sunday afternoon.

Fair weather as moderate winds ease to light this afternoon.


A secondary frontal trough may bring a few showers today, followed by fair weather and veering winds. Moderate to strong winds ease light to moderate tomorrow, then light and variable as high pressure moves over Bermuda. As the high moves to our east Thursday winds settle southeasterly and then increase to strong again by Friday. Moderate to rough seas fall slight to moderate Wednesday evening through Friday morning.

Pressure steadily decreases as a series of lows deepen to our north driving moderate to strong winds and moderate seas across the region. Overall fair skies persist until a trailing cold front moves through the area tonight with some rain and gusty showers. Expect rough to very rough seas and isolated, short-lived showers for early next week, while strong winds ease light to moderate mid week with returning high pressure.

A few sunny breaks- more wind coming
High pressure will result in mainly fair skies through today and into the weekend. However, a low to our west will cause winds to strengthen becoming strong tonight with moderate seas increasing moderate to rough in response. It will stay windy into next week as further lows move north-eastwards along the US eastern seaboard. On Sunday night, a trailing front will bring rain and showers before clearing eastwards on Monday.
